Bishop Taylor leads by example and is a consummate Visionary and knows how to inspire others who share his vision. He is the Pastor and Founder of the Abundant Life Deliverance Church in Memphis, Tennessee and has been Pastoring for (30) plus years. Bishop Taylor is a humble humanitarian and communitarian.

Bishop Taylor was born to the parentage of the late Mr. James Lewis Taylor Sr., and the late Mrs. Helen Bass Taylor. For the past (49) years have been married to one of the finest women in Christendom today, Lady Janet Laverne Lewis Taylor. To this union (5) children were born.

Bishop Taylor is a graduate of the Manassas High School in Memphis, Tennessee where he received many scholarships in Music.

Bishop Taylor acknowledged his call to the ministry in October 1984 and preached his first sermon on January 12, 1986. Received his Ministerial License on February 1, 1987.

August 1987 – attended Mid-South Bible College which later became Crighton College in Memphis, Tennessee. Bishop Taylor is a graduate of the W. L. Porter Institute (accredited by the Evangelical Training Association).

August 1988 – Organized the “Word of Deliverance Outreach Broadcast” heard on Local radio Station, WMQM-1480 AM.

September 1989 – June 1990 – Graduate of the W. L. Porter Institute (accredited by the Evangelical Training Association).

April 7, 1991 – May 31, 1993 – Appointed Pastor, Belle Eagle COGIC in Brownsville, Tennessee.

January 2, 1994 – October 1995 – Served as Presiding Elder and Associate Minister Williams Temple COGIC in Memphis, Tennessee.

October 1, 1995 – Organized the Abundant Life Deliverance Church and serves as the present Servant Leader.

April 2000 – Consecrated to the Bishopric in Cleveland, Ohio.

February 2005 – Organized the “Redeemed Pentecostal Fellowship of Deliverance Churches International, Inc.

December 2005 – Elevated to the “Office of Chief Apostle and Presiding Prelate” of the “Redeemed Pentecostal Fellowship of Deliverance Churches International, Inc.

December 2005 – Received “Doctorate of Divinity” Degree and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in “Biblical Leadership” (International New Fellowship of Religious Ministries)

October 2015 – Granted Apostolic Succession- (Apostolic Covenant of Churches International, Inc.)

January 1, 2021 – Present – Appointed Ordinary Prelate to the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee /Pentecostal Churches of Christ.
